Volunteering For Jesus

Do you volunteer
for things in your church? They say that 20% of the people (on average) volunteer, that leaves 80% of the people that do NOT volunteer their time to help others in need.

Is that what Jesus would do? Of course not, Jesus wants us to give our time, money and resources to the least of these.

Let's see what the Holy Bible tells us about giving to others:

Deuteronomy 15:11 For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

Proverbs 11:25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.

James 2:15-16 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed, and filled.", without giving them things needed for the body, what good is that?

In this busy world, we are all busy with our own lives and sometimes we scarcely remember to thank God for all our blessings. Sometimes we think mainly of ourselves and forget that there are those that need our help. Is that what Jesus wants for our lives? You know the answer.

Go to your church or give them a call and ask them what you can do to help out.

The more people that volunteer to help, the less burden will be on the shoulders of a few.

Pray to God and ask Him what He thinks you would be best at doing. We all have things we are good at and things we are not so good at. We compliment each other in that way.

Lord, grant me the wisdom and the fortitude to do more for my church and therefore more for You, My Lord Jesus. In Jesus' Holy Name I pray, AMEN.

If you cannot make a donation to this worthy cause, please at least pray for them. Let me give you a little history of missionaries and Christianity in India.

Missionaries and Christians are beaten, jailed, brutalized and murdered because of their faith. India is a very dangerous place for Christians, yet our strong and faithful missionaries keep on spreading the Word and the Good News of Jesus Christ. They are there harvesting souls for the Kingdom of God at their own peril.

Did you know that baby girls are not valued in India? Many women choose to abort female fetuses. Female infanticide is rampant in India. Females in these societies are of little value. Those that do not abort their female babies, kill them. Some female babies were fed dry, unhulled rice that punctured their windpipes, or were made to swallow poisonous powdered fertilizer. Others were smothered with a wet towel, strangled or allowed to starve to death.

The bias against females in India is related to the fact that "Sons are called upon to provide the income; they are the ones who do most of the work in the fields. In this way sons are looked to as a type of insurance. With this perspective, it becomes clearer that the high value given to males decreases the value given to females." The problem is also intimately tied to the institution of dowry in which the family of a prospective bride must pay enormous sums of money to the family in which the woman will live after marriage. Though formally outlawed, the institution is still pervasive. "The combination of dowry and wedding expenses usually add up to more than a million rupees ([US] $35,000). In India the average civil servant earns about 100,000 rupees ($3,500) a year. Given these figures combined with the low status of women, it seems not so illogical that the poorer Indian families would want only male children." Murders of women whose families are deemed to have paid insufficient dowry have become increasingly common.

The missionaries are in India to spread the Gospel to this very sad part of the world. Most of the abortions, infanticide, and murders happen within the Hindu religion. Not as much with the Muslim people.

If you can help Pastor Pinto in his efforts, please pray ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. This is not a recommendation of ForgivenessDiaries.com as I do not know him personally, but he seems to be a good Christian Pastor who is trying to help children and the poor.

God bless you and again, the power of prayer is strong. Please everyone pray that the people of India will all hear about Jesus Christ and come to the Kingdom Of God, so that they will not be left behind. God blesses those countries that love and honor him. If India would have Christianity spread like wildfire, then God will surely bless them.
