George Tiller, The Late Term Abortion Doctor Killed In Church

Today, May 31, 2009, Dr. George Tiller was shot and killed while he was serving as an usher in the Reformation Lutheran Church.

First let me say that my heart goes out to his family and friends and to the other people who were attending church and witnessed this crime.

As a Christian, I am against abortion because it is a sin and abortion is murder. Dr. George Tiller committed murder on unborn babies countless times. George Tiller also had no problem with late term abortions which most abortion doctors will not perform.

Let me also say that I am NOT condoning George Tiller's murder in any way. Murder isWRONG, plain and simple whether it is the murder of innocent unborn babies or a late term abortion doctor. Whoever this is that murdered George Tiller was wrong and he will pay for his crime.

The reason I am writing this post is that this kind of act always gets the atheists and pro-choice people to start talking badly about Christians. I don't know the person who killed George Tiller, I know nothing about his religious background, state of his mental health, or his beliefs. I do know he will answer to God and to the courts for his crime. He had no right to take it upon himself to kill the abortion doctor. The abortion doctor will answer to God about what he has done, it is not up to us to make this judgment or to take the law into our own hands.

I have questions about the thinking of George Tiller. The fact that he attended a church and was serving as an usher there. Of course Christians are not perfect and not everyone who attends a church is a Christian.

To naysayers and atheists, please know that Christians are not perfect AND many people claim to be Christians just because they go to church or because they believe in God. Believing in God alone will not get you to Heaven nor does it make you a Christian.

To be a TRUE Christian you must say the sinners prayer where you ask Jesus to forgive you for your sins, you must believe that Jesus is God and that He died for your sins and that He rose again. You must also have a personal relationship with God through the reading of His Word (the Bible) and through talking to God (prayer). You must repent of your sins, (which means that you try and make an honest effort not to continue in the sinful ways of your former life) before you were saved by the Grace of God.

Now, Christians are not perfect, they are only forgiven. Do Christians sin? Of course, the Bible tells us that ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. The difference is that once you become a Christian you become convicted of your sins where before you did not care. Convicted means that you know you have sinned and that you feel guilty about it because you know the sin makes God unhappy with you. Before becoming a Christian, you may not have felt the slightest bit of guilt about your sinful ways.

Would you like to have the gift of everlasting life? Your first step is the SINNERS PRAYER.

Again, my heart goes out to the Tiller family and friends who have lost a loved one. I hope they will come to Christ and accept his gift of salvation and take comfort knowing that Jesus cares about you and loves you dearly.

Couple Ordered To Stop Bible Study In Their Own Home

I read something just now in a Fox News article that disturbs me GREATLY! David and Mary Jones had been holding a Bible Study with friends in their own home in San Diego, California and have been told to STOP or pay a huge fee for doing so. Now, again, this is San Diego, CA, not China or India!!! This is AMERICA!!!

I have copied the article below, full credit for the article going to Fox News.

Pastor David Jones and his wife Mary have been told that they cannot invite friends to their San Diego, Calif. home for a Bible study — unless they are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars to San Diego County.

"On Good Friday we had an employee from San Diego County come to our house, and inform us that the Bible study that we were having was a religious assembly, and in violation of the code in the county." David Jones told FOX News.

"We told them this is not really a religious assembly — this is just a Bible study with friends. We have a meal, we pray, that was all," Jones said.

A few days later, the couple received a written warning that cited "unlawful use of land," ordering them to either "stop religious assembly or apply for a major use permit," the couple's attorney Dean Broyles told San Diego news station 10News.

But the major use permit could cost the Jones' thousands of dollars just to have a few friends over.

For David and Mary Jones, it's about more than a question of money.

"The government may not prohibit the free exercise of religion," Broyles told FOX News. "I believe that our Founding Fathers would roll over in their grave if they saw that here in the year 2009, a pastor and his wife are being told that they cannot hold a simple Bible study in their own home."

"The implications are great because it’s not only us that’s involved," Mary Jones said. "There are thousands and thousands of Bible studies that are held all across the country. What we’re interested in is setting a precedent here — before it goes any further — and that we have it settled for the future."

The couple is planning to dispute the county's order this week.

If San Diego County refuses to allow the pastor and his wife to continue gathering without acquiring a permit, they will consider a lawsuit in federal court.

May God bless David and Mary Jones and let this issue be resolved in their favor.

Revelation Song Video Indiana Bible College

When I first became saved back in June of 2008, I went to church and I could not stand Christian music. This was just because I always listened to heavy metal style music and I never liked slow or love songs.

This video is the reason I fell in love with Christian music. The Indiana Bible College Choir are extremely talented and Revelation Song is my favorite. In my opinion, they do a better job with this song than Kari Jobe.

Volunteering For Jesus

Do you volunteer
for things in your church? They say that 20% of the people (on average) volunteer, that leaves 80% of the people that do NOT volunteer their time to help others in need.

Is that what Jesus would do? Of course not, Jesus wants us to give our time, money and resources to the least of these.

Let's see what the Holy Bible tells us about giving to others:

Deuteronomy 15:11 For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

Proverbs 11:25 Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.

James 2:15-16 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed, and filled.", without giving them things needed for the body, what good is that?

In this busy world, we are all busy with our own lives and sometimes we scarcely remember to thank God for all our blessings. Sometimes we think mainly of ourselves and forget that there are those that need our help. Is that what Jesus wants for our lives? You know the answer.

Go to your church or give them a call and ask them what you can do to help out.

The more people that volunteer to help, the less burden will be on the shoulders of a few.

Pray to God and ask Him what He thinks you would be best at doing. We all have things we are good at and things we are not so good at. We compliment each other in that way.

Lord, grant me the wisdom and the fortitude to do more for my church and therefore more for You, My Lord Jesus. In Jesus' Holy Name I pray, AMEN.
